Does Hallig improve my text?
No. No language model runs over your text. Punctuation and capitalization come from the recognition, paragraphs from the pauses you make. A word only changes if you wrote a dictionary rule for it.
What is the difference to other dictation apps?
Hallig leaves what you said as it is. That includes filler words, repetitions and false starts. Many dictation apps take all of that out and reword the rest. With Hallig, a word only changes if you write a rule for it yourself.
Does it really work without internet?
Yes, recognition runs on your device. Your dictation never goes online. Hallig connects once to download a model. The built-in Apple recognition loads its language packs as needed.
Can I teach Hallig my own words?
The dictionary lets you set rules: X is recognized, Y gets written. That gets names, brands and technical terms right. It does not teach the recognition a new word, it corrects the spelling afterwards. With no rules of your own, nothing happens.
What happens to my recordings?
Your recordings stay on your device. Nothing is uploaded. You can delete them at any time.
Which languages does Hallig recognize?
That depends on the recognition you pick. The built-in one covers around 22 languages, Parakeet TDT 25 European ones, WhisperKit 99.
How does the Apple Watch work?
You speak on the Apple Watch, and your iPhone turns the recording into text. The text lands in the iPhone's clipboard. From there you paste it on your Mac or iPad. Your iPhone has to be nearby, and the handover takes a moment.
Is there a Mac version of Hallig?
Yes. Hallig for the Mac is a separate purchase. The purchase for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch does not cover it. You download the app directly as a DMG, not from the Mac App Store.

The app is free. 5 dictations per day are included, with every engine. Pro lifts the limit: from €9.99, paid once, no subscription. One purchase covers iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. The Mac app is a separate purchase: €19.99, one purchase covers 3 Macs.
